The Eternal Abstract
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked Ernest Beaux to create "a woman's perfume with the scent of a woman", rare and powerful. The perfumer presented her with a visionary composition that made unprecedented use of aldehydes.
Mademoiselle chose the fifth sample of the fragrance, and decided to name it simply N°5. An abstract fragrance that reveals an intoxicatingly powdery bouquet.
Radical Geometry
For N°5, Gabrielle Chanel chose a revolutionary bottle, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cabochon cut like a diamond.
A radical design that has become an icon of the 20th century. Its minimalist lines ensure the focus remains on the amber-gold liquid within, a testament to timeless modernity.

Aldehydes
N°5 was the first perfume to overdose on aldehydes, giving the floral bouquet an abstract, airy, and powerful freshness.
May Rose
Cultivated in Grasse, the May Rose is a rare and precious flower that blooms only once a year, offering a rich and honeyed scent.
Grasse Jasmine
The most luxurious of all jasmines, adding a deep, sensual, and enveloping floral density to the heart of the fragrance.
